Today Lula suffers a 12-year jail term in prison after the Brazilian appellate court made of three judges hearing the case of accused corruption participation unanimously supported the corruption and money laundering judgment of former president Lula as reported by CNN on January 24. The 72-year old former president is barred from vying for any election again by Brazilian laws which ban all politicians whose convictions are upheld by an appellate court. Therefore the former president's plans to run in the forthcoming elections is in doubts.
