There are small business entities usually have less than 20 workers. Globally, the small business entities form the largest business percentage. The other form of a business entity is the not-for-profit organizations. These organizations use the proceeds they received in terms of profits to pursue the objectives of the company and to keep it running. Not-for-profit organizations entail charity organizations and/or several public service organizations. It has been able to provide social and learning services especially to children in a way which is satisfying. In contrast, Barnardos has been effective in its operations as an entity judged by the number of centers it operates and the number of kids under the Programme. Assuming the role of a headteacher and putting Henri Fayol’s functions of management into practice, then I would plan, organize, command, coordinate, and control.

Planning would require coming up with a workable structure of what has to be done as an entity and has to involve each member of the entity. Planning essentially involves forecasting and trying to make the future a success. This is in regards with which the scientific rule backs up the rule of thumb. Another principle is the selection of employees scientifically so that they may be trained appropriately. The other principle is the labor and management corporation which advises entities to collaborate with organization members instead of managing conflicts. The last principle is that workers should be trained scientifically. This means that qualified experts should offer training to workers (Clegg, Kornberger, & Pitsis, 2015). Workers appreciate when there is good management which incorporates the human skills and relations.

Also, the Hawthorne made contributions in the sense of changes in perceptions on the required treatment of workers and drafting a more superlative style of management (Schaltegger, Lüdeke-Freund, & Hansen, 2016). The general environment is dependent on the task environment. Thus, entities may maintain authentic barriers to entry. Though, the government may enact laws and regulations to protect the entities from external new entrants (Clegg, Kornberger, & Pitsis, 2015). The global aspects of doing business are experiencing changes and shifts. Companies need to become aware of the changes and make the appropriate responses in order to sustain their businesses.

The major megatrends in the global business today are the changing dynamics of the technology, the economy, the workforce, and the sociocultural aspects. Any business entity is always affected by both the internal and external environments. The external environment includes all the aspects of the general and the task environment emanating from outside the business. Both are to be considered by managers before making any key decisions and policies in the company. New entrants come with a new strategy of doing business and sometimes end up having a bigger customer share of the market. With the rising dynamics of doing business, more companies are expanding to other markets with more improvised products to suit the needs of consumers. This can be done in several ways including using both print and social media.

Organizational culture refers to underlying assumptions, beliefs, ways and values of interacting which contribute to the exclusive psychological and social environment of the organization. The organizational culture constitutes the philosophy, expectations, values, and experiences which guide the behavior of members and their interactions with the external world.
