In his claim about liberty and justice, Schmidt says that Christianity brought up liberty and justice that is based on kindness and compassion that is enjoyed even by non-western nations where the secular government has taken the role of the provider of everything (Schmidt, 2004). When considering history before the introduction of Christianity, some individuals formed the law that was only meant for individual benefits thus acting superior to the natural law. Citizens were denied their natural rights and freedoms thus remaining under control by the superior individuals. Therefore, Christianity brought up the idea that all human being subjected to God and that the universal nature of the law regardless their status. Simply, the belief by Christians is that No man is above the law.
