(Article1, Parties). What breaks are the employees entitled to? The employees are entitled to lunch breaks of 30 minutes that are paid while they are on 12-hour shifts (Hours of Work, Article 4). What is defined as overtime? Overtime is defined as the time spent in a job over the normal 8 hours per day after a 2hours notification before the scheduled overtime can start. Any other work done over the 8 hours without being notified prior is counted as voluntary work except in the case when there is machine or electrical breakdown (Article 5, Overtime). What paid holidays are recognized? The following are the paid holidays that are recognized; New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, First Monday in June, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, One Day before the Christmas Day and, One day before New Year’s Day.
