The justice system should establish the cause of their actions and take them through rehabilitation and counselling. Nathaniel should be taken away from the troubled home after rehabilitation. Nathaniel should not personally be held responsible for the murder of his teacher. He was angry and might have lost his temper which is linked to his troubled background. He is immature and would have taken his actions to extreme levels. There are high hopes that he might not repeat the criminal offense. Juveniles should not be tried as adults. The law should consider that kids are not mature and still under psychological development. They are more erratic, vulnerable, and impulsive. Teenage actions can be influenced by negative peer pressure. In New Jersey, the transfer of juveniles to adult prisons only happens depending on the juvenile’s age and the establishment of the probable cause of the crime committed among other reasons.
