Bill Clinton is the husband to Hillary Clinton, the former United States’ Senator and also, secretary of the state. On the other hand, Barack Obama (1961) is an American politician and attorney (Jacobson & Gary ). Like in the two inaugural speeches, Bill Clinton mentions investment among the Citizens as a way of restoring a strong economy; this would benefit them through the creation of jobs, quality and affordable health care, and increased wages.

Obama, on the other hand, mentions the need to promote unity, peace, and remain hopeful in resolving the challenges, especially economic recession, and ending war and terrorism. According to Obama, the United States can overcome the challenges if it maintains peace among its citizens and faces danger with determination and in one accord.   Body Both presidents while taking the office of the presidency, they are focused on the need for change. However, each of them has his desire and techniques to help him achieve it. He says, “we inherit an economy that is still the world's strongest but is weakened by business failures, stagnant wages, increasing inequality and deep divisions among our people. ” Similarly, Obama argued that America is at the fight against violence and hatred; and even the economy is poor due to greed and irresponsibility from some people in the government.

He claims that the country is faced with the challenge of unemployment, failed business, costly health care, and failing learning institutions. According to Obama, the country is burdened with a great crisis. Following statements from the two leaders, they are trying to enlighten the listeners of the significant causes of the poor economy. Concerning Clinton’s statement, Obama challenges Americans that the United States cannot achieve greatness through short cuts or working for less, and is not given but is earned. He says, “we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. ” He creates a challenge for individuals who prefer leisure to work and those who are working for pleasure and fame. Those who work hard, risk their lives and struggle to develop new things are the ones to earn greatness.

He implies that Americans should not be self-centered but instead, they should work to achieve the best for the country. On the other hand, Obama says, “This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed—why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall,. He employs race and faith (religion) to refer to democracy associated with discrimination based on race and religion. The United States of America is composed of different races such as white Americans, Native Americans, and African-Americans. Besides, America has people of different faith which includes Muslims and Christians as the main religious bodies. Such nations are the source of market for US products.
