Human population increase adopts a simple logic model, which shows an equilibration at some point close to the earth’s carrying capacity. Human population increase impact heavily on the environment and because space is limited, unsanitary conditions, limited resources and emergence of contagious infections result. Rapid population increase has major effects on residential areas around the major towns and cities, where population increase is either a problems or an advantage (Mishra, 2002). Advantages of rapid increase in population on local environment of suburbs include opportunities for increase in real estate business, raising the GDP, administration of corporate business, and increase in opportunities for persons who are land agents (Dietz, Rosa, & York, 2007). Another problem would be increase in garbage creation, increase in pollution of air from vehicles and burning substances. Since every person has to live in a decent house and have families, the natural environment will be cleared of the trees to give room for settlement. This will bring imbalance to the ecosystem and therefore, lead to reduction in fresh air produced by the plants, rain and destruction of beautiful scenery. Additionally, land for cultivation will reduce due to increased population, and this will further lead to inadequate farm products for human consumption. In a populated area, chances of outbreak of diseases and infections are high due to poor hygiene and less education. Driving the human ecological footprints. Front Ecol Environ, 13-18.
