One woman who pioneered the rights of women is Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (ER) an American politician, diplomat, and a very active activist. Having been the wife of the first president, she was the first lady of the United States. The longest-serving first lady had stayed in office from 1933 to April 1945 when her husband served four-year terms in office. She was very active in politics of the country and one of the outspoken women the White House has ever had. She used to have numerous press conferences and wrote in the newspaper column. Being a niece to Theodore Roosevelt, she was born in a wealthy family and the married to Franklin Roosevelt, her fifth cousin. She worked hard for the political, racial and social injustice in the country.
Just after the death of her husband she served as an advocate in wide ranges of human right issues. Through her, the world new that the office of the first lady has a critical role to play in any country, she handled all the domestic problems on behalf of the president and showed that her office is so critical in the politics of the county. She made many conferences that talked about human rights and women issues. She ensured that many of the women got some form of employment. Between the years 1946 and 1953 she served as a delegate to the United Nations where she oversaw the draft of Universal Declaration of rights. She was actively involved in democratic parties in her life just after White House.
