Current social changes that are being experienced in different places of the world include global demographic shifts and gendered patterns of work and care. This paper will focus on global changes under gendered patterns of work. In discussing of global social changes on gendered patterns of work, one will consider the situation of the developed world. In the developed world, the changes from the so called men’s work women’s work have greatly changed gender patterns that are tentatively equal, (Haferkamp et al, 1991-1992). This change immensely contributed to the advancement of the world economics since everybody has become a significant contributor towards its change. This should be affected so as to realize organizational and social change leading to sustainable development that calls for equity and growth.

Gender equality can be characterized by equal rights, opportunities and responsibilities that each person should enjoy regardless of gender ones come from. The elements of gender in the world of sustainable economy include equal remuneration for work of equal value, equality in association and collective bargaining, equality of opportunity and treatment in employment, equal participation in decision making at all levels, equality in obtaining meaning career development as well as a balance between work and home life that is fair to both genders. Both men and women should be given equal opportunity in the workplace so as to develop their abilities and be left free to make decisions without being limited the gender roles and prejudices that are based on person’s interest and their capacity.
