Some people also refer to this as genetically engineering because it involves the engineering of a natural animal. This has been applied to both animals and plants. The origins of the technology are not very clear but rather it came about as a way of preserving certain characteristics of animals from one animal to another. At the same time, the need to produce quality also fuelled the adoption of this technology. The use of this technology has been viewed in several angles and depending on the group of people concerned, a different view is obtained from one person to another. This is a way of ensuring that quality is not lost but rather is increased (Chin, 2014). The technology accomplishes several things.

Most animals that are on the market today are good because of this technology. Most times, animals are taken through this process to ensure that the undesirable traits are eliminated. The main aim of this technology is to pass on traits that are desirable from one animal to another. This is a serious ethical issue because the views if this group must be taken into consideration. Another ethical issue is the health risk this may have on human beings. It is true that most times, people feed on animals with the most common one being cow meat. Altering the genes o9f such an animal may pose health threats to the consumers because the genes are not natural. Once this mix up is done, a lot of damages are suffered by the animals.

Animals that produce milk can be engineered to ensure that they produce a lot of milk that is beneficial to the consumers. The animals that are subjected to this alteration can be made to reproduce faster than the natural ones. This means that they will multiply very quickly adding value to the owner. It is also possible to engineer the animals to produce substances that are beneficial to humans or that have medicinal value to humans (Makino, Rubin, Carneiro, Axelsson, Andersson & Webster, 2018). On the other hand, there are certain companies that have refused to use meat and milk from genetically produced animals. While this goes on, animals must be protected. In a kind of way, I believe that gene technology is very unnatural and if there was a way that it could be stopped then the world should take that direction.
