In his illustration he gives solutions to tackle climate change. Climate change or commonly referred to as global warming refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on the earth’s surface. An elaborate explanation on the physical mechanisms of climate change and how humans contribute to global warming will come forthwith as the following issues are discussed. How Greenhouse Gases Alter the Earth’s Temperature Greenhouse gases refers to gases in the atmosphere which absorb and emit radiant energy, meaning they trap heat in the atmosphere causing a steady rise in atmospheric temperatures. Green house effects occurs when long wave energy radiations are radiated back to the atmosphere and the greenhouse gases absorb and retain the heat. The other myth that Gore refutes is the link between hurricanes and global warming.
According to Gore, hurricanes are not related to global warming. According to studies conducted, it is shown that hurricanes are getting stronger each day due to global warming. This is simply explained by the fact that a rise in temperatures in the oceans generate more heat energy that drive the storms and makes them stronger. Gore also claims that there is a glacial growth due to global warming. He urges that the people should embrace alternatives to carbon emitting industrial operations. He encourages slow population growth as a way of reducing global warming. Gore argues that high populations lead to an increased demand for energy. Setting policies that lead to slow population growth may be a solution to global warming. Some of these policies include, fertility management resources, women and girl child education and empowerment.
