The use of weapons without control had caused a high number of deaths among people prompting governments to develop policies that would be used to curb the problem. In most cases, individuals have not been required to describe their background information to acquire guns as well as when they are making applications for license. There have been no circumstances that could be used to determine if an individual could hold a gun or not. The use of gun handling classes before individuals purchase their guns could be more effective to ensure that they will not use them in a wrong way such as killing their friends. Many people have lost their lives due to gun-related accidents hence it is necessary to develop regulations that will be used to stop the problem.

In 2010 for example, there have been more than 600 deaths in America due to unintentional shootings (Tordrup et al. Other studies describe that, between 2005-2010 in the USA there have approximately one thousand four hundred deaths attributed to accidental shootings from young people aged between 20 to 25 years. “The addition of a loading indicator as well as the childproof lock for safety” could be used in this case to reduce such unintentional shootings. Gun culture had also increased the idea of self-protection and hunting in the vast open spaces in America where individuals are permitted to have guns. Gun control helps in reduction of the wrong owning guns which end up using these firearms for their motives especially the young people. Gun control legislation should be promoted because it helps in addressing the lack of foresight and responsibility among firearm owners at homes which is the primary source of homicides in America.
