The winners in the pro argument is this consumer society who seems constrained by the existence of inequality. What is consumer society and how did it evolve Consumer society and inequality concepts first evolved from classical macroeconomics where the impacts of income disparities on the welfare of consumers were explored. Inequality, as applied in classical economics is the extent to which the consumer income is unevenly distributed among the human populace. This is quite different from an industrial society where the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services are mainly driven by technology. In a consumer society, the consumer’s level of income is the primary factor under consideration.
