Assistive technology has different definitions, but the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004’s definition have a wide acceptance. General definition An Assistive Technology Device is one which has a functional impact on the learning abilities of a disabled child. The device must show improvement on the learning abilities of a child with learning disabilities. Assistive technology service is any activity directed towards helping a disabled child in the selection, use, or customization of an Assistive Technology Device.
