America was neutral to the war but was forced to act after it was attacked and got stuck in the middle of a war. President Jefferson used an economic stand to defend his nation (Historyplex n. d) The Embargo Act had its advantages and disadvantages too. The ban disadvantaged the United States economy since the nation was more dependent on the trade which involved exporting and importing goods to other foreign countries. The effect of the ban was the introduction of smuggling goods to enhance the Americans trade; this became a problem to the enforcement of the law. With the trade policy the US economy would be promoted efficiently. The country’s foreign policies would also be promoted by this policy.

For trade policy to be effective the government would need to implement some changes which would include the nation’s negotiations with other countries and how they are conducted. With effect of the changes the budget and trade objectives of the United States would be advanced. By the removal of trade barriers the country’s economic growth would be viable and rapid (Bergstein pg 32). However, in the United States, liberalism and its policies have been put to test. In the year two thousand and fourteen a black American man was reportedly choked to death by a police officer for the illegal selling of loose cigarettes in New York City. The same year a young African American teenager was shot dead by a white police officer.

The following year saw the death of yet another African American in the hands of the police officers. These events caused a movement of activists, Black Lives Matter, which interrupted public speeches in Arizona. And this is quite dominant in the United States. In education, parents have rights on how their children should be taught; this is an ideology that is as a result of Marxism (Grimsley 2013). Therefore, these two theoretical schools explain the policies set in the United States used to govern the country and control its economy. What policy limits did the theoretical schools that you say best explains the two issues you discussed in this essay questions, put on the choices policy makers could choose. The affordable care act is one of the policies that were initiated by the former president of United States, Barrack Obama.
