Therefore, it is true to argue amateurs commit the theft described in the case because it is done without planning and as a result of temporary opportunity. Also, the criminals in the occasional property crimes consider themselves as non-criminals and crime is not the primary source of livelihood. It is also imperative to note the criminals involved in occasional property crimes tend to have little or no knowledge of conventional crimes. Often, they lack the lack the crime vocabularies and the conventional crimes "street sense. " Shoplifting falls in this category because it is evident the thieves in the described scenario employs force rather than professional ways of committing crimes. Additionally, the theft committed can easily be controlled by sociological remedy with little applicability of the laws.
