In our discussion, I realized that Knowledge Management system has got a role in Harmony Inside Company. The company uses this Knowledge Management (KM) system to advance innovation in their in the diagnosis of irritable bowel. The KM has propelled this company to great heights of success. Among its success, it boasts of publishing recipe books about the nutritional Diet. This is fairly important since knowledge like this that has been captured on a document will need to be managed (Frost, 2017, np). For instance, I am always eager to learn new ideas and ways of doing things. I frequently inquire about new recipes for food unknowingly that this is explicit knowledge that I am seeking. I think that most of the pharmaceutical trainings are based on explicit knowledge.

This includes drug prescription and even manufacturing process. Thanks to our group discussion and presentation for enlightening me. Given that I intuitively developed to be a fluent speaker, then I had some knowledge maybe tacit. I cannot write down how I learnt this language. This corresponds to our previous group presentation. They say that it cannot be codified. Meaning it cannot be documented or written down. For instance I might not be able to teach someone on how to think critically. Critical thinking is acquired from keen analysis of a situation and the context of the speech or text. I might admire how someone reasons. On contrary, I think that tacit knowledge can be transmitted. It depends on how I am motivated by the person whom am I looking on upon maybe as a role model.

Therefore, a good employee is one who can incorporate both types of knowledge. I have learnt about tacit knowledge from group discussion. I now fully understand it better than before. The presentation has made me to know that these two types of knowledge exist. This distinction is an important step to me towards knowledge management. Individual interpretations brings different insights to particular work and it is noteworthy interesting when I am pointing out messages or knowledge that the group members may not have realized when writing their work. Like in the case of excluding some work on implicit knowledge. I have learnt to continuously ask “why” on different matters. This I have learnt it from tacit knowledge meaning “knowhow” rather than “know what”.
