But since public officers in the criminal justice system are expected to keep high standards as compared to the ordinary person because they are granted high authority and power. Ethical Issue 4 Just like the police, the judges, as well as all players in the criminal justice system, must have the discretion of ensuring honesty and impartiality in the justice and penal policy. The judges must adhere to the legal codes which are intended to keep the profession morally ethical. If judges do engage in unethical activities, then the public trust vested upon the court system is likely to be eroded. This may promote anarchy since members of the society will start taking action upon them without seeking for litigation in the court. They set the behavior of judges and the operational goals of the criminal system. Remember the information might be the answer to all the existing problems. The professional work of the investigator should form the basis of every movement.
