This therefore would affect team work since many of the workers would also be missing their targets and giving lame excuses for their underperformance. In other words, the case is a bad example that would affect team work, performance and organizational success in a negative manner (Griffin & Moorhead, 2011). Instead, it should hold an end year party and recognize departments instead of individuals. This is particularly harmful since the organizational process is not purely depended on an individual but on team work. The team does not expect to see an individual member o staff bragging over his/her achievement which cannot be seen if the job was to be evaluated at individual levels. The demoralizing of employees would result if the trend continues and many of them would not be willing to contribute to the company’s success because they may not be necessarily recognized.
