Solid Waste Research Paper

The entire group, disposal, and recycling process affect different aspects of a country like an environment, economy and the communities living around the solid waste. The control of solid waste is based on an understanding of Municipal stable waste composition and physicochemical features. Results for investigation in Libya; outcomes of a survey on the different sources of solid waste demonstrate that plastic waste accounts for 12% of the solid waste, textile material 29%, decomposable matter 37% and electronics material 21% (Kreith 56). The burning of disposed-off solid waste has provided a means where energy can be retrieved from the garbage. The burnt debris produces heat energy which is used in industries to run the machines. In response to the senior community in Libya and the ever increasing need for more people to be connected to electricity, will require that more solid waste is renewed so that it can provide power to the growing electricity needs (Kreith 96).

There will be a need to set up more robust waste recycling plants all over the country so that even as the rate of solid waste disposal is ever increasing more and more of the waste would be required in providing more electrical energy. Steam obtained from the burning of solid waste is used as a source of fuel-transportation in Libya which is somehow cheaper compared to other sources of fuel. The burning of stable has increased the sources of fuels in Libya. Also, it has caused a shift to overreliance in oil as the primary source of fuel-transportation. It also provides a cheaper means of renewable which can be reliable especially when the hydroelectric power goes off. Waste to energy conversion is another technique of efficient and sustainable means of utilizing solid waste (Hoornweg and Perinaz, 67).

The waste materials are converted into sources of renewable energy which is environment-friendly and cheap. Landfill technique is another means of ensuring solid waste is kept at the right place. The residue is held underneath the ground a better means of keeping the trash. The biogas is a reliable means of electricity when there are blackouts in the country. Incineration of solid waste products is another form of conservation of energy from waste. A technique referred as biodegradation is used to convert the waste material into useful energy. The waste material is burnt in a closed place, where steam as the end product is extracted. This is used for operating large types of machinery in the industries and provision of transport fuel for public means of transport such as a train.
