Within resting CD4+ T cells, a latent virus reservoir persists and hence contributing to the viremia reemergence after the HAART discontinuation. In this paper, I will demonstrate that the only way of making HIV treatment easier is by reactivating the latent HIV-1 so that it can be susceptible to drug therapies. Currently, drug therapies in use work through inhibition of replication of HIV. Repressing the transcription of HIV-1 is very key in reducing the HIV-1 latency. This strategy is done by reactivating the latent HIV-1 which makes it susceptible to HAART. This tamper with the disease and end up keeping it at the latent phase. DNA is where several processes of the cell take place such as replication, translation and transcription.
