However, at the onset of the 21st century, Collier and Hoeffler (2005) claimed that identified statistical results indicated that various economic incentives were the significant causes of the uncontrolled outbreak of violent rebellion reported. There were different arguments in aid and support of the greed grievance claims. The study seeks to identify some of the most important channels through which greed and grievance have taken dominance in explaining the various issues of wars in the current society. One leading criticism on the issue of greed-grievance is the fact that it is not possible to impose the type of civil war realized that is outlined. Instead, it is considered that civil wars are caused by highly sophisticated social processes that majorly depends on the given historical and regional context. It shall be noted that Libya was highlight affected by the civil war, and they had no much influence on the issues related to the conflict.

Most of the Libyan leaders considered going ahead with various aspects of their urge for power without looking at the effects the wars had on the lives of the citizens. It has been reported that 1,000 deaths are reported every year because of civil wars in affected countries. Countries like Libya, where greed has taken dominance, is one good example that accounts for a large number of reported deaths. However, other key scholars have argued that the identification of rigid distinction that is identified have led into the re3alization of a number of conflicts which is still ongoing and prevalent in the problems that are being realized. The available resources that could help solve the problem that exists become the main issues that promote a few individuals. African developing nations like Libya is a straightforward case example from its overreliance on oil importation.

Despite the first introduction of oil, it is estimated that the level of unemployment in the country is 38% in 2017. The question that arises is how to justify such a rate with the country being rich in natural resources. The answer is straightforward, considering the type of leadership the country experiences. It is, therefore, a great channel when leaders who understand the urge to have a stable leadership which is away from the influence of other elements within the society. Such measures will ensure that the right channels have been completed in the right way. On the contrary, the characters and behavior of the rebels in the primary rebellion process don’t connect with the confirmation that greed is the main motive. Rebels might have other ambitions rather than looting public resources.

Nevertheless, the role of oil rebels would merit that they moved more control over the resources, which confirmed that they were basically interested in the control of the resources. Millions of monies are used in the illegal business across nations key stakeholders being people with influences within different countries. Leaders influence and greed have become very close to each other, helping in the enhancement of illegal undertakings. With the strict rules that have been placed against drugs, the people with influence are the ones taking dominance of the industry. Concerning the grievances of citizens and leaders, developing nations such as Libya has suffered under essential economic policies regime which affected the investments in the country. There were international sanctions made in the country which limited their business prospects on a global scale.

The various regional legislative bodies were not appropriate and making a proper political decision was a significant problem. There were issues that needed to be identified before making the right channel of choice that could affect the entire process. Most of the developing nations are considered to be an authoritarian state without essential political freedom violating legal rights to any individual who opposes leadership. The influence is based on the types of leaders that are in power since they have all the manipulative and authoritative power (Regan, & Norton, 2005). They take dominance in the different channels that they complete without having any form of influence or significant highlights. It is one fundamental problem that has been identified.
