For instance, the exclusion of people of the colonies from selecting their member to the Grand Council would cause dissatisfaction. In addition, it would be Benjamin believed that the people should have the right to select their representative to the parliament and in return, they would honor the tax levy. On top of that, the plan would restrain the trade relations that the colonies enjoyed with foreign nations (Newbold, 2005). The colonies were yet to solve their internal wrangles thus the union would have broken in a few years. For instance, the governor would control all the finances in the colony thus raising suspicion among the subjects and the governing council.
