The Creation and Sustainment of Safety
Document Type:Personal Statement
Subject Area:Nursing
To ensure the quality of the workforce is as high as possible, the hiring process is indeed meticulous. Undeniably, knowledgeable and experienced workers typically make the fewest mistakes. Additionally, the equipment utilized at the hospital is regularly serviced to ensure they are as accurate as possible. Nevertheless, these measures are not sufficient to ensure that safety is guaranteed. One of the most efficient ways of reducing errors that has been implemented in the workplace is improving the vigilance to errors. For this approach to be successful, an essential error reporting system had to be put in place. Its workplace environment makes it easy for human errors to be reported without hesitation, fear or shame (Page, 2004). A notable step was letting the people responsible for the errors propose the solutions and interventions hence reducing shame that accompanies making mistakes.
