It is therefore essential to make sure that the involved parties have an understanding of the consequences of their actions. Hence, all forms of dishonesty are considered unethical. If actions conducted tend to result in the violation of the moral agency of the people, they are said to be wrong. Therefore, in such instances, it is essential to establish the goals and purposes of undertaking specific actions (Bolton, Greiner & Ockenfels, 2013). Under the human approach, it is necessary to be self-governed since it provides an efficient mechanism to dispute any criteria regarding any types of dishonesty. In such areas, individuals may consider it as being ethical since it does not contribute to the violation of any activities that they may be undertaking.

There is a thin line between what is moral and unethical with regards to dishonesty, and therefore the engineers should always take a precaution in making better judgments in the process. Evaluating the Case Study: ‘Late Confession’ Step 1: Issues Presented The case study outlines the actions of a doctoral candidate during his final exam. Norm who was then 51 years old cheated during the final exam and lived with regrets of undertaking such activities for 32 years. It is a representation of the long-term effects of cheating and aspects of dishonesty. Step 4: Solution to the Issue Various ways can aid in dealing with the matter. The initial one would be revoking Norm’s degree. Although it is over three decades after the action took place, it would go a long way in ensuring that other people do not make the same mistake.
