The US possessed the most considerable overseas militarily presence in the war. However, the war is marked as the only war American lost because the North Vietnamese troops emerged victoriously. Historians cite the physical geography of Vietnam as the primary feature that fostered the success of the North Vietnamese armies in this war2. The location of Vietnam, South Asia, made it difficult for the American troops to travel and acquire supplies from the home country. Also, the jungle trees and vive covering the deep valleys and sharp ridges in the mountains made it impossible for practical military movement. Historic events take place in the stage of the world implying that the events are inevitably influenced and determined by geography. To illustrate, Geography is vital in determining the winners of historical battles and early human civilization conspicuously on the success of people, and the formation of cultures.
