Underrepresentation of Black woman in the music industry
The American music society is made of whites and blacks. Most black musicians based in the states have specialized in hip-hop and trap music. To date the female black musicians have been underrepresented in the industry. They have been outnumbered in terms of the producers, artists and managers (Yomi n. p). According to the African culture, most parents were not supportive of music as a career. In fact, they still do not consider it as a means one can use to earn a living. The boy child in the African getting is allowed to do anything that pleases them. This leaves the girl child behind, discriminated and neglected by the society. Until recently, women in Africa were not allowed to attend school or get access to the outside world.
