This paper will disclose the significant hazards of volcanic eruptions and uncover different ways of mitigating and reducing human exposure to these threats A lava fountain from a Kilauea volcano, on Hawaii's Big Island on May 18, 2018 in Kapoho, Hawaii Volcanic eruptions are one of the most dangerous eventful natural catastrophes that can take place. These hazards include lava flows, volcanic gases, tsunamis and landslides Volcanic gases Volcanic gases are liquefied in magma, and they are freed to the atmosphere as the magma erupts to the earth surface. These gases include carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, chlorine and fluoride. The release of these gases makes volcanic eruption more explosive and can pose a multiple of threats to the surrounding residents. Sulfur compounds, hydrogen sulfide and chlorine, react with water forming poisonous acids which damage eyes, skin and the respiratory systems of the surrounding animals and human beings.
