Network security architecture involves various layers of defense with each designed to handle a certain level of security. In its simplest form, the network security measures that are put in place by companies ensure that authorized personnel has access to what they require while at the same time keeping malicious access at bay. The implementation of network security is a demanding process and requires a number of resources to guarantee its success. There are a number of network security protocols that can be adopted depending on the needs of an individual or an organization. One example is the access control that enforces policies that allow some users with access rights to access the network or any other data stored in the network.

This involves scanning the entire network and identifying loopholes that attackers can users to exploit the network. Depending on the type of vulnerability identified, experts recommended action depending on the severity of the risk that can result if the vulnerability is exploited. Another kind of test performed is the application vulnerability scan that focuses primarily on the applications that are shared within the network and which can have has effects on the network if exploited. Penetration tests are another type that concentrates on building upon vulnerabilities that may be missed by other kinds of scans that are performed within the network. Although such a test may also expose the organization network to the risk of an attack, it is recommended that organization should embrace robust security measures to safeguard their network.
