Disk clean up This is a function which can be found in all varieties of window operating systems and allows the user to scan the whole hard drive to remove unnecessary files and create extra room. It deletes temporary files such as cookies and other files from the internet. Disk clean up allows the user to uninstall programs, clean restore points, compress old files and remove components of the windows (Beisse 113). On Windows XP, disc clean up can be found in start menu >all programs>accessories>system tools>disc clean up. b. d. Windows Easy transfer This is a function in windows which allows the user to transfer files from a computer running on an older window version to a new one.
