Business ethics health and safety
Many employment companies including healthcare organizations, mining companies, production companies which employs large numbers of employees have considered ethical principles. The moral consideration in the companies through the organization’s culture assist both organization managers and the employees in decision making. It also aids the conduction of some important business activities that the employees are entitled to. In an organization either, there are a lot of ethical issues that arise from all corners which do require attention from the management and other external factors to solve. Ethics is majorly considered in healthcare organization which is related to numerous ethical components such as human life and medical practices that can impact on an individual’s life and safety. Falls also compose 10% of occupational fatalities for example 540 deaths per year on average are always reported.
An employee in a construction company can fall form a certain floor of a building to the ground because there were no barriers or places where he could step on to do his construction work. Another health and safety problem that might exist in an organization is lack of respiratory protection. Organizations sometimes assume providing the employees with equipment such as nose guards and air filters when they work in dusty conditions which could affect their respiration. One can thus develop respiratory diseases such as asthma by working in poor conditions for a long time. Relationship of health and safety to ethical management and CSR Employers are always obligated to take responsibility for the health and safety of employees in the organization.
It is thus proper to consider the ethical considerations and management in the organization to improve the safety of the employees. To reduce the health risks also, management of ethics and corporate social responsibility is very vital. All the employees are considered to be aware and act responsibly on the health and safety issues that exist within the organization premises. It thus proves the relationship of the CSR and ethical management to health and safety of the employees. It, therefore, calls for the managers to take a keen look into the business environment with emphasis on the employee working environment to develop strategies that will assist in building a safer environment for employees. Some factors including working environments influence the employees on the other side.
Employees produce their best when they operate under healthy and conducive working environments such as one with low health risks or no risk at all, insurance, and other personal factors (James). The health factors personally influence employees in the organization and take upon themselves to keep safe and stay away from hazards that might impact their operations. Firms that have uncounted safety and health problems A good number of organizations have ever fallen victims for ethical safety and health of employees. The organization will also prosper due to its observation and take on the ethical considerations. The moral concern is thus essential for any practicing industries, and all managers should consider putting it at the forefront in any decision-making forum. The reason for my opinion in the safety and health ethics is that it affects the employees’ performance in the organization and for any organization to succeed, the employees must be very competent.
Besides, the ethical consideration is important because it affects the physical and psychological life of an individual. Dealing with the ethical problem In conclusion, I would deal with this moral problem by making sure that all employees work under safe and healthy conditions. Another significant moral foundation is proportionality or fairness. I firmly believe in equity where every person get whatever they earn and also adhere to the proportional subdivision. I consider fairness in judgment and believe in justice as an equitable and a fair practice that can be rendered to an individual. I think that truth for all is a reasonable decision which can be used to solve many organizational problems more so in the leading sector. Also, I consider care as a strong moral foundation.
I would communicate the ethical expectations of the organization. I could implement and communicate to the employees through the ethical code which serves a purpose of uniting the organization as one. The ethical code will contain moral values and expectations that are required of the employees. Use of the ethical code and mandating it in the organization will assist significantly in creating a robust ethical barrel. I would also consider offering ethical training to the employees to create a robust ethical barrel in the organization. Some of these activities include business and leadership decision making, problem solving and the formation of strategies. How I arrived at the credo I was inspired by some factors such as the global trend of leadership in which all leaders are required to have an ethical mindset and conduct organization leadership ethically.
I was also inspired by the significance of ethical consideration in business practices. My credo was also influenced by personal values which I would want all other employees to develop and have them as part of their professional and home lives. Besides, I found ethical dilemmas in the employee practices within the organization and points which require a lot of decision making and critical thinking. I would also be strict and ensure that there is no day when ethics is not observed in the organization. Besides, I would create rules and regulation within the organization that will drive the thoughts and decision-making process of the employees within the organization. Conclusion Business or organizational ethics is regarded as a significant component of business success and prosperity.
