The use of mobile phones has become an indispensable way of interacting with people. The use of such gadgets continues to grow as time advances which makes them somewhat more popular among people of young age. This being the case, the use of mobile phones among students continues to be a modality that has raised heated debate over the years. Critics attempt to discuss o ether it is ethical for students to be allowed to use their mobile phones while in school or not (Roberts 265). From one perspective, cell phones have been identified to bear substantial impacts on the learning culture of students. This study, therefore, wishes to oppose the motion that students should not be allowed to use their cell phones in the classroom.

The study further wishes to provide adequate evidence as to why students should be allowed to bring their cell phones with them to school. The reason for this goes beyond the basis of enhancing the convenience in communication among students to the fact that such gadgets could be used as essential learning aids (Roberts 265). Why the Use of Cell Phones Should Be Allowed Among Learners With the advancement of technology, various resultant tools and elements often tend to have their pros and cons. As such, there is a range of advantages of allowing students to effectively make use of their mobile phones at school. In addition, smartphones are endowed with different applications such as maps, calculators, dictionaries, notes, internet and calendars that could prove to be of particular importance to the earning activities in the classroom.

As such, most learning institutions have seen the need of allowing learners to make adequate use of cell phones in school as they have foreseen how such gadgets could be used in enhancing the manner in which students gain additional knowledge in a faster and more convenient way. In addition to this, the use of smartphones could prove to be a probable alternative for students with learning challenges. For instance, some subjects such as anatomy, science, and astronomy may prove to be difficult for students diagnosed with conditions such as dyslexia. As such, the use of smartphones could enable them to learn through the use of visual aids through the use of their cell phones. Although such incidents are no bound to occur every now and then, this indicates the importance of using a cell phone in school (Cheever 297).

The use of cell phones in schools should be allowed as this could act as a means of tracking the well-being of students. Today, different cases of insecurity continue to be experienced in their different walks of life. As such, most parents often tend to be insecure about the whereabouts and wellbeing of their children. In most cases, parent hence finds it necessary to equip their children with mobile phones so that they may be able to regularly check up on them for reassurance purposes. Lepp 219). The use of cell phones may be used as a tool for enhancing unity among students. In the modern context, more and more students tend to travel to foreign countries in search of proper education.

The United States is an example of some of the countries with students from across the world. In such a case, school systems often tend to be filled with students from different cultural backgrounds which makes it particularly difficult for easier interaction. This also enables for easier preparedness among both teachers and students hence allowing them to come up with the most logical plan towards avoiding the risks associated (Roberts 265). However, every aspect of technological advancement often bears significant shortcomings. As such, the use of cell phones could also work towards hindering students from gaining adequate knowledge from their teachers. Some of the most common issues that are likely to emerge from cell phone use in school include increased distractions from their use hence to lack or limited concentration to what is being taught in class.
