The journey has not been easy, and I have had to hold on to ensure that I complete the course. At this stage of my learning assessment, I present a development portfolio detailing the key learning and growth and development areas that I have achieved in the process. As a reflection, I focus on the key learning areas that would be instrumental in shaping my career growth as an MBA graduate. These areas include my career management skills, my experience during the students’ conference, my team work skills and a team skills development plan, my personal development plan and a self-selected report. Career Management After working for two years I got the chance to enroll for my MBA. Moreover, the coaching sessions have also helped appreciate the absolute necessity of being able to practically apply the lessons and skills learned in the MBA class because only then would they be meaningful and valuable to my career growth.

In addition, the coaching sessions have helped me narrow down to the industries that I would best qualify to work in given my skill set, passion and qualifications. This is a great step in my career because I would be able to save a lot of time by focusing on specific industries and not just looking entirely at any open positions that require MBA graduates. With this focus, I am likely to be satisfied at my job and a as result would be able to perform at my best. Such opportunities will not only help me give my best to the organization but also to grow as an individual because I would be doing something I am passionate about and committed to.

While I am not perfect yet, I am more willing to try now that I was before. I have also gained meaningful advice on how to prepare the best dissertation paper. Student Conference During our study, we have had a student conference. This was a very vital component of my learning process because it gave me the opportunity to speak to a large audience on one of the most trending finance topics today; blockchain technology. The build up to this event was filled with anxiety due to the pressure of having to give the best performance otherwise the presentation would do more harm to my career good. During my presentation I noticed that many of the students were awestruck. This was not a common topic among MBA students who almost 99% had not studied computer science or software engineering in their undergraduate program.

I had a chance to answer questions from the audience some of which were relevant to my topic and others that were not. I exercised a lot of patience and understanding with all the questions and at the end of my presentation received a round of applause and a standing ovation. Once again, I reaffirmed my ability as a good public speaker and I felt ready to take more of such roles both within my team in class and at the work place. On the other hand, I have learnt that some negative team dynamics can present the most dauting challenges to the success of team work. Issues such as mistrust and failure to out full weight on team activities can lead to dissatisfaction among team members.

For this reason, others may completely resign from the team activities. During my course work, I have engaged in several group activities. As much as I had involved in group work before, it had never been at this level where the team work was more of an interdisciplinary activity rather than a departmental teamwork. Besides, I have learned to appreciate team diversity as a means of achieving the best team to work with. It is tasking to maintain commitments to job duties and group obligations. This calls for working on proper planning and effective usage of my limited time. I also need to work on dedicating myself more to group activities and working with more diverse groups. Opportunities Threats I can employ the newly acquire team skills at my workplace by encouraging more interdepartmental/ interdisciplinary team work.

The success of this activity inspired as the team leader and I have believed that I have some great qualities as a leader. However, that is nothing compared to what I am have gained from my MBA program. I have had the chance to refine my leadership abilities through learning in class as well as practice especially during the team work activities. One of the best leadership skills I have acquired is to value collaboration. As a leader I now believe in bringing individuals to work together in teams that are open and transparent which leads to greater engagement and success. Opportunities Threats I can venture into new and challenging tasks that can help improve my self-belief upon successful completion. Balancing the need to build self-belief while continuing to carry out tasks that I am familiar with.

I must take on more challenging and new tasks that I would otherwise not consider taking. A minimum of 3 weeks of class and personal reading on ways of improving self-belief. Beyond the practice at the University, I have taken both in door and field roles at my work place and I have enjoyed working in both. Because of my cultural fit, I also believe that I am able to work even in environments that have a lot of pressure (Azanza, Moriano, Molero). Conclusion I have greatly benefited from my MBA learning program.
