In the research paper, I am going to argue my points out in support with the statement that tourist attraction areas of California has led to displacement of people. This will based from the cases that has been raised from the local communities and the statistical data of tourism as the leading factor of displacement in California by Penteriani et al. According to Lunstrum, 2016 60 percent of individuals has migrated from California due to negative effects that are coming as a result of tourism something that has led to homelessness and separation of families. Tourism Development From 2016 statistics about displacement, quite a number has been forced off their land for tourism development. This is also based on tourism and conservation policies which have favored the tourism industry above the rights and the needs of the local people of California. Pollution Pollution in California has always been on the headlines as a factor that is coming s a result of tourism in California. In terms of health, tourist attraction sites of California has faced a lot of pollution through traffic emissions, littering, increased production of sewage and noise which has made the city not to be preferred by those that are interested in places that are noise free and free from sewerage production, gas emissions and littering. The reason as to why people are not preferring these places is because of the fear for their lives and it’s true that there are those that are not addicted to such places.

For that matter, they will tend to look for places that are according to their standards and wishes and this happens through displacement. According to Alrawadieh, Karayilan, & Cetin, 2018, there are a lot of people that have been displaced just because they cannot fathom staying in such places and by doing this tourism in California has displaced many individuals just because of this. As it is stated in economics that with an increase in demand for goods and services, there are higher chances of prices of the same goods and services to increase in a proportional manner. For that matter, those that cannot afford the prices of goods in these tourist attraction centers of California has been displaced (Dwyer, Pham, Jago, Bailey & Marshall, 2016).

Increased Expenditure by the Government From the United States government statements and statistics, successful tourism depends on a basic infrastructure for example hotels, roads, and centers as seen in California. To do all these, the cost depends on the government who takes the responsibility of ensuring that all these are done and all these comes out from the tax revenues. In achieving better infrastructure in California, very many people have been forced to move so as to give way for this development. Besides recreational opportunities and food supply interference, other factors that have made California residents be displaced are such as reduction in productivity of the ecosystem which that resident have complained over time. According to statistical data that has been given on reduction of ecosystem productivity, it has been realized that through tourism, the productivity of the ecosystem are interfered with in that there are some chemicals that are used in making tourist attraction centers that are not friendly to the ecosystem.

For that matter, residents around these places are left with the option of migrating in that these places are not worthy (McMahon, 2015). Climate Change Climate change is also a factor that is evident in tourist attraction centers in California. According to climate scientists, there is an agreement that has been reached that the temperature of the earth’s surface has risen steadily in the past few years due to an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which traps heat from the sun. According to this, local communities have preferred migrating to places that are not facing higher taxation from the government so that they can at least be in a position to live a life that they can afford. According to statistics, from 2016 where the city has experienced an increase in taxation, the number of individuals that have migrated from the city to other cities of the United States has tremendously increased.
