While examining crime rates, it is essential to consider the factors that affect change over time in crime rates as well as the differences in criminal behaviors. When the two aspects are thoroughly analyzed, then it is easy to handle both criminology and the criminal justice policy. The policy may fail if an analysis is done based on false data or when research is done based on little knowledge about the architecture of crime(Glaser). Over time, the rates of crimes have gradually increased, and due to the dynamic nature of crime, new tactics have been developed by criminals for them to survive in the world of crime adequately. Various theories explain the reasoning behind committing of crimes and the motivation behind it.
