Document 1

The trafficking of humans is considered a serious human rights violation and criminals have embraced the current technologies that go with this crime. Through this convention, the member states of the United Nations are given a new tool for addressing the crime, while focusing on it as a global problem because it involves the movement of people from one locality to another. The convention enhances international cooperation and in so doing, it gives states the ability to prevent international criminals from succeeding in using the cyberspace technology to conduct their human trafficking criminal acts. Therefore, this convention supports citizens across the globe in the struggle for safety and personal dignity both at home and at the community level (United Nations iv).
