The main focus that is associated with classical realism is order. Classical realist claim that the order that has been created is fragile and was created through tensions between various nations. The main parties that are associated with this theory are the thinkers including Niccolo Machiavelli together with Thomas Hobbes. The classical realist thought has been overshadowed by neorealism. This issue happened after Kenneth's work had been accepted due to the rise in structuralism in North America. Also, the classical realist has defined power as the main factor that is likely to bring influence. Countries that have much power compared to others especially under a union, they will influence these countries to work in the way they want. Furthermore, the power may help to attain goals.

When there is a positive force in the form of power, goals will likely to be achieved in a short time. Classical realists have defined power as the central element of politics. Some countries are, and they have not been defeated when struggling to gain power. Since most countries are striving for power the world I left in an anarchical state. This situation is whereby the world does not have any supreme authority. All the countries that are struggling to gain the power do not want to lose it to the others. According to realist, most of these countries strive to gain power over other nations (Jackson, & Sørensen p. The other issue that makes most states strive for power is the need to be heard. Most of these countries want that when they something other nations will listen to and abide by them completely. Furthermore, these countries will always want to be sought for advice as they are controlling every. Generally, most countries will strive to gain power so that they can use this authority to control other nations as well as benefit themselves from a wide range of resources available in different countries.

Reasons Why States Strives for Power According to Non-realist The non-realist has explained the reason as to why most states strive for power. Some countries might have critical resources that they may not want to share with other countries. These countries will be very aggressive in developing the laws so to ensure these resources are protected at all cost. Second reason under this aspect is that some countries will fight to gain power so that they can develop laws that are equal to every state. These countries are ethical, and they want to ensure that every nation is treated the same way and in the right direction in the international picture. In the end, when these countries gain power, they will use it for the benefits of other nations.

These two elements have been developing to explain where power can be enough. Defensive realists have explained that it is not wise for states to acquire too much power because, in the end, the system might punish them (Adler p. Some states believe that have too much power is good which is not. The defensive theory mainly focuses on the issue that there should be a balance of theory. When a country acquires too much power, it will have control over many aspects and some countries might not be good with this matter. The offensive realism claims that when power is maximized, the country will have much influence on other nations. The other issue under this theory is that when nation's gains more power, it will be able to expand its political interest abroad which might turn out to be beneficial.

Basically, in this theory, the strong since they have power will do whatever they want while the weak are suffering. The offensive realists claim that the international system, as well as the distribution of power, is the unseen aspect that helps to shape and shove the great powers to increase power together within influence regardless of the unit level or domestic differences. The international system will help a country to look for avenues that will be used to increase influence as well as power over other countries. Therefore, many countries will have a quest to gain power so that they can develop these rules to favor them or to bring equality among different nations. The international system is greatly related to power in various ways.
