Finally, these media personnel have a role in shaping the political direction that Americans will definitely follow, dragging Americans further leftwards than they would be on a level and non-altered ground. The claims for liberal media bias have been around for decades with most critiques associating it with political blood sports that have evidently dominated the American history. Consequently, it results in an imminent political polarization with eventual candidate preference. Due to the biased media habits, striking differences between liberals and conservatives have erupted, especially when there is need to access government and political news. The two factions live in different worlds with limited overlap regarding the source of news they trust and turn to (Mitchell, Gottfried & Kiley, 2014). For instance, in the following day’s press, Time reported, the police attacked “hippies, yippies, New Lefties, revolutionaries… and at least one cripple (Groseclose & Milyo, 2005).

” This scenario triggered a political backlash against Democrats and mistrust towards media integrity. In fac,t as Groseclose confirmed, were it not for the media support for Barack Obama in 2008, then McCain would have triumphed by a popular vote margin of 56% (Mitchell, Gottfried & Kiley, 2014). Similarly, George W. Bush was reported calling the news reporters “mournful pundits” for being negative during his 1980’s campaign. Most journalists have been on the spotlight for writing for or against certain segments in a society. The biggest challenge arising as a result of this biasness is the influx of social animosity and ethnic profiling among different races. For instance, against all odds, Barack Obama became a historic leader by having a complete media support by his side. However, the same media that had made him a hero has also conspired against some group of people depending on their social alignments.

As opposed to what happens in countries like Canada where everyone is guaranteed universal health coverage, the United States, however, has a system which insures people based on their income. Ideally, it becomes difficult for the poor people to afford the same privileges as the rich. Acquisition of health insurance has provided a better leeway to high income earners who enjoy quality services from well furnished medical institutions. Income inequality continues to widen each passing day. As a result, it makes it difficult for the state agencies to initiate benefits out of the collected revenues (Leung, 2015).

In essence, the more flexible a tax-and-transfer framework is, the easier it becomes for a country to monitor and regulate the aspects that could trigger inequality. Unfortunately, it is only Germany that has designed a functional structure that focuses on cutting its financial inequality beyond its average limit (Babones, 2012). If, for instance America would restructure its wage capacity, then there is no doubt it will equally streamline its labor market to help it in bridging the gap between the poor and the rich. Subjecting campaign funds to certain limits would be ideal as it will help in promoting democratic participation of low income earners who could shy from contesting against over-affluent people. According to Liz Kennedy, a contributor to the U. S News, imposing campaign spending limits is the best way to protect the country’s democracy from instances of corruption. She has taken the position of Americans who have expressed dissatisfaction over unregulated use of government money to facilitate the electoral process of presidential candidates (Kennedy, 2013). Most importantly, any leader who falls in the trap of these rich people will definitely feel distracted from solving issues of national interest. Similarly, unregulated financial support to political leaders jeopardizes both the short-term and long-terms needs of Americans. Some of the possibilities likely to occur when large corporations and wealthy people bankroll cash during campaigns include tax evasion and reception of tax breaks (Kennedy, 2013).

Consequently, this will have direct impact on the growth of upward mobility issues. Despite excessive criticism and opposition from international agencies on human rights, a study reveals most Americans are in support of Trump’s decision. Similarly, most poling agencies have classified America among top ranking countries that vividly support torture of terrorism suspects. Following the recent upsurge of cases of terrorism, it has become a top concern among Americans and their government as well (Khan, 2016). Imagine the loss a country like France suffered when the Islamist State attacked Paris, killing 132 people instantly then later takes responsibility of the massacre in the glaring of media personnel. The government is at a better position to employ its intelligence machinery to sniff the information and apply appropriate measures under its mandate and with focus to the safety of its citizens; it should be able to curtail the possibility of attacks.

I would love seeing America going against Israel’s recent position on torture. As opposed to other countries, America inclusive, Israel has banned extreme torture but has allowed moderate physical pressure on suspects.
