Green building in urban city
Document Type:Dissertation
Subject Area:Architecture
People have designed and adopted modern ways of life taking into account the most effective and appropriate undertakings that help in fulfilling the most appropriate channels. The standards of living of most people have completely changed because of the modernized considerations that are being considered. The designs of buildings and modern structures have completely changed how people live. An important consideration that has been undertaken is the improvement in the environment that has significantly changed in our lives which stands to be essential. Without due consideration, it is a great implementation that has effectively transformed how people adopt various channels through their lives and ensure that the right undertakings are considered. Understanding Green Building Green buildings are buildings that have been designed, constructed, refurbished, operated and reused to be able to achieve a greater long-term use. They are very effective in their durability. In most cases, green buildings are considered to be n business premises because of their long-term use (Jaillon, Poon, & Chiang, 2009). It is easy for green buildings to be refurbished and reused. Several benefits are attained from the construction of green buildings (Gou, Lau, & Prasad, 2013). First, are the low maintenance and operation cost that will be enhanced. Green buildings usually incorporate unique construction materials which become easy to maintain. The maintenance cost of the building is effective and will not be able to restructure the building in a way that will affect future safeguard.
It becomes easy for the buildings to remain effective and used in the right way for the coming years (Ahn, & Pearce, 2007). Hong Kong city structure has considered green buildings for the maintenance of the town and ensuring that the structures being constructed are eco-friendlier able to work for the better of effectiveness (Mokhlesian, & Holmen, 2012). It is through such considerations that the right undertakings have been made and effectively redesigned for the better. Some buildings have been constructed by the use of recycled materials as shown; Figure 3: Recycled Material 1. Passive Design in Architecture The use of natural ventilation and lighting is a great architectural design which can reduce air conditioning, aeration, and lighting in the building. Urban heat island effect or the elevated temperature and reducing heat gain through building envelop is another great implementation that can be considered (Lam et al.
The construction methods of green buildings include prefabrication, pollution control during construction and the adoption of reducing, reuse, recycle and replace the mechanism (Kats, 2003). This is considered to be a great measure through the guarantee that it has on the effectiveness of the buildings. It ensures that the buildings have the right considerations to be considered to be a green building. Many of the renewable Renewable energy is seen to be energy that is collected from renewable resources, such as Solar, wind power is most useful, but hydropower is the oldest (Suleymanova et al. It is the most efficient power source that has been considered by many cities. It made more architects design more sophisticated buildings that helped to transform the general outlook of cities and towns across the world through green building constructions.
Application & Eligibility The application and eligibility of BEAM Plus Interiors targeted mostly the non-domestic interior fit-out projects in Hong Kong, which includes, offices, retail shops, restaurants, hotels and serviced apartments among others. It was such considerations that more green buildings were added to the business premises. Grading Requiring only a one-stage assessment process at the end renovation or refurbishment and associated testing and commissioning offers four certification levels, namely, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze (Lam et al. The final certificate grading for projects is conditional upon pre-requisites credit for the use of the Materials, Energy, and Indoor Environmental Quality aspects. • Consider natural ventilation in the design to reduce energy consumption, increasing comfort and air quality within the building. Exterior Landscape To integrate with the building design and functional needs. It should be benefits to both the building and nearby area with more pleasant.
Layout and Design To have a better impact on boosting office productively. Green Strategies space of interior Unit layout will be required. • Reusing materials is to use the materials similarly that they were used in their original life. It eliminates the demand for new material and extends the life span of the old materials. Indoor Environmental Quality Ensuring indoor air quality has been known to be an aspect of green buildings. Other buildings do not consider this implementation to be an effective step and neglect the significance of best air quality in buildings (Tam, Tam, & Tsui, 2004). The benefits of building with good thermal control design help to lower the level of energy consumption and makes sure that the air-conditioning system provides a comfortable thermal environment within their level of setting. It through such considerations that the best possible undertaking is maintained and sustainably considered.
Natural Lighting There must be a comfort, communications, mood, health, safety, and aesthetics lighting in our life. Glare Control If too strong and direct sunlight, it would cause discomfort. So, it is important to have proper glare control. To avoid glare in the main seating area makes a more pleasant environment for workers and have less time in discomfort will increase productivity 3. However, it can be recycling rainwater, grey water, condensate water, cooling tower, and fire services water. Operation and Management 4. Green Operation and Management Well-planned operational and management practices and procedures are crucial for long-term implementation and achievement throughout the whole process of maintaining a green office environment. For a new green building, although designers and builders have contributed to establishing a good foundation for a green environment, their efforts will be in vain if the building is poorly operated and managed.
It will be worse when green practices are unfamiliar to the users. Measures and campaigns for encouraging green behaviour among occupants iv. Formation of green teams and encourages participation by different parties v. Planning and implementation of green programmes 4. Green Education for User Improve user Awareness i. Education and Training ii. I didn't know about green buildings before looking for information (Hwang, & Ng, 2013). I know technology could improve the whole environment, such as intelligent systems that can regulate water, lights, power usage, temperature, humidity and infrared. Overall, this paper has been surrounded in Hong Kong as the main green building. Green building is environment-friendly behaviour, if possible, without increasing the burden on the environment; reduce the cost of building materials and construction workers on the law, green buildings will be more widely accepted.
While comparing the importance of protecting the environment and people's visual perception, most of the people will know the importance of the environment, but a lot of people will choose "beautiful things.
