International relations after the cold war
The unity of the nations was catalyzed by the occurrence of the cold war. However, the recognition that the security of a country is that of its citizens is one of the concepts that the supporters of human security believe. The foreign policy of the United States reflects the national security as security for its citizens (Jackson & Richard, 200). Difference between the conception of national security and human security The complex economic and the social interactions of human beings are given the priority by human security, which is an approach to international security as well as the national security. Human security mostly aims at ensuring that the people in a specific state are not faced by challenges such as diseases and poverty. Consistent state behavior with the conception of security There are a lot of benefits that a state enjoys by ensuring that security is maintained.
As earlier stated, security enables people to live peacefully with each other, hence providing that people can interact with each other, more so through trading activities. One of the benefits is that trade can be carried down in the country (Wash, et al. The buying and selling of goods and services are all about commerce. The investor and business people are attracted in countries which have a lot of security because this allows them to carry their activities peacefully. The problems included the lack of food, lack of electricity and education which were inclusive of some of the necessities. Things were believed to become worse if the countries could not get the support from the Western (Reich, et al. The credibility and the image of the US have been affected by the erosion of the civil liberties as well as the torture and rendition of the prisoners.
In the Muslim world and globally, anti-Americanism has gradually increased. Therefore, in fighting against terrorism by the Americans, it was a war for the Muslims. He outlined that this can only be achieved if the state ensures that the overreach of the military is avoided. He also emphasized on extending Afghanistan while drawing Iraq, because Iraq was he central area for the terrorists in which they made the frequent attacks. Also, he stressed that the best way of ensuring that human security was upheld was through democracy. Democracy provides that people choose wisely their trusted leaders who they believe that they will address their concerns. It also ensures that people gain confidence in whatever the activity that they undertake because democracy has given them the privilege to do the right thing of their choice.
The use of diplomacy For the new administration, it is necessary for it to employ the use of public diplomacy as well as the economic and military diplomacy in fighting against the terror attacks. Public diplomacy entails winning the hearts and the minds of the terrorists by the use of the most effective programs. The components of the foreign policy can be understood through these programs, to devise a plan of dealing with the terrorists. The US administration thereby needs to listen to the voices of the Muslims, to curb the attacks. They should have an understanding of how the majorities of the Muslims view and understand the world. In a country whereby security is upheld and hence providing a good environment for conducting business achieves a stable economic status. Also, the establishment of the foreign policy sees America as one of the superpowers of the world.
Such a country stands with the other nations in the fight on some issues, such as terror attacks in the country (Harris & Paul, 127). Conclusion The international relationships between the countries are very important because it helps in addressing some issues such as the ethnic identities, intercultural relations, development issues and many others which are challenging to be addressed by an individual nation. Peace is the key determinant of ensuring that the issues listed above are sorted out. Harris, Paul G.
