In the present, there is one system of communication that is regulated by the international organizations and which binds all nations across the world. The transportation system has also evolved and in the present, there is a global transportation system that involves major international shipping lines composed of both the water transport and the air transport system. The trading system in the world has also changed a lot and there is an existence of worldwide trade and divisional of labor and it exists a number of state and multinational corporations. In this case, various multinational corporations which specialize in some major kinds of trade system such as manufacturing, production among others currently operate across the international spectrum. Security has also been sanitized and currently there exist some major components of a security system which operates across the worldwide spectrum with an aim of dealing with various criminal elements.

New methods have been invented to help in getting more knowledge and learning more concepts of international security. Question 3 Every state has its own vital national interests. The national interest expresses all the major values that a nation holds as some components of identity and which promote the sovereignty of the state. One of the key factors is territorial identity. Every nation is confined within a given territory. In this case, there was a need to develop a system that will work towards promoting power and security as the major factors that could promote the development of individual states. The classical realism, therefore, developed to deal with some of the major factors that led to the derailment of the matters of national interest.

Some of these matters that were largely seen as the strong components that lead to the derailment of the peaceful coexistence within the world were egoism, anarchy, the quest for power, security and morality. The classical realism was deemed as the most appropriate approach to deal with the issues related to the absence of morality in the society at the essence of the quest to work towards political superiorities, anarchy, and the quest for power. Question 5 In the present world, there exists the development of classical realism and structural realism. According to Kenneth Waltz, human nature has nothing to do with political systems in the international spheres. According to him, each state within the international system has specific needs and interests in order to survive.

In this case, as every state tries to survive, there are some other states which may use or jeopardize the survival of other states so that they could survive. The end result is that some nations which value the survival of their territories over others may obtain this need and hence affecting the general survival of other states. On the other hand, Mearsheimer is a classical liberal. The liberalism, however, can work together and they can apply the use of international agreements and other organizations to form and arrive at a global consensus over important issues that affects some specific interests of the state. The liberals have less believe on the military prowess and value more the state and the act of the international organizations rather individualistic member states to protect itself from any form of external aggressions.

Liberalism holds less significance in the modern world given that most nations value and apply the use of realism in its system to protect and maintain its sovereignty. Question 8 Liberal peace theory argues that democratic states are often hesitant to engage in any form of armed conflicts with other identified democracies The theory exerts that the major reason given for the liberal peace theory is due to the fact that democracies respect and upheld the legitimacy and sovereignty of the states. The liberal peace theory has some core strengths. The constructivism, realism, and liberalism share some similarities (Reus-Smith & Christian 241). Question 10 The concepts of peace and war are quite hard to define. This is because these two terms carry different meaning and different approaches based on circumstances.

Literally, war is the absence of peace and the opposite is the same for peace. The definition of these two terms is quite hard to fully comprehend because each of the two terms above carries some rather different weight and people can create the meaning of each of the terms above based on circumstances. Modern war is characterized by the use of modern weapons which include heavy artillery, modern warplanes, modernized guns and bombs, the use of nuclear weaponry among others. This is unlike in the past when the war was fought using traditional methods and means. The application of technology is also taking over modern warfare. Currently, technology is used to plan and execute the entire process of war. There is the use of robots, unpiloted warplanes and drones and these have all changed the warfare in the present.

Economic sanctions, in this case, act as a method of punishing the warring states or preventing them from the continuous war and reconsider the use of peaceful methods of solving conflicts. Question 13 Military power is one of the key things that are used today to establish the superiority of a nation together with economic prowess. Many countries are working wizards arming and creating stronger and more advanced military as a way of promoting their military power over other countries in the world. The United States is today known as the military power due to its large military force, the complexity of the weapons used and also the high training that its military process. It is with this spirit that modern scholars should reconsider their definition of military power (Nayak & Erik 193).

This should be based on the grants, financial aids, and other development aids that economic powerful countries are offering to the growing nations. It should also be based on the role of such countries in fostering international relations. Question 15 Neocolonialism is still a major problem in most countries across the world. It is one of the most critical issues among some countries in the world and especially in Africa. Most of the hind end companies in such countries are still owned by the colonial masters who own virtually almost all the major assets of the country. Making peace from a hard power perspective is making total subjugation to the hard power methods practiced or in which the people have been forced to abide by the supreme powers.

Making peace here is becoming the total subjects of such powers without questioning the authority and by abiding by all the measures put forward by the concern powers. Generally, hard power rulers are often ruthless and stand at nothing to achieve their target. They have both the economic prowess and the military power to use on anyone who may be against them and hence the people are subject to abide by such systems. Question 17 Soft power is the ability to attract the members of the opposing ideology through shaping their preferences. The asymmetric power is characterized by the quest to develop a force or military power to fight with an already installed power which may be having a strong military power, a standing army, professional army or a well-equipped army force which is tasked with crushing such belligerents.

On the other hand, the belligerents are characterized by the power which is either an insurgency, a resistance movement militia, or some unlawful combatants. Asymmetric power has been applied in many cases across the world. There are varius factors which inform the use and the exercise of the asymmetric powers. Some of the circumstances include an urge to deal with a ruthless or corrupt government, the quest to remove a dictator from power, the quest by the public to deal with bad leadership from the government and this calls for a more efficient arising of belligerent groups. Great power is good. However, every good thing has its own limits and there are some limits that can be developed from the great power.

Great power affects the national prowess and also the national role in other international matters. The limit of great power lies on the national well being. Every nation has its own objectives and it is the same objectives that set the limits of any kind of power on the nation and its historical perspectives. Asia has also established the application of modern technological innovations in its security system. Most countries on the continent have developed the application of modern technological innovations to boost the continent’s capability in the development and the massive development in its security system. Some countries on the continent also have some of the well-established weaponry which makes the continent a sustainable and established key security figure in the world.
