For any kind of service delivery, management and leadership are quite essential. A leader has a vision on the possibility of making an achievement and communicates it to other staff and strategies are put in place for realizing the vision. Leaders do negotiate for resources, motive other people and bring in other resources to ensure the goals of an organization are met. A manager ensures the resources available are organized well and used to produce good results. Therefore, a good leader should be charismatic, decisive, sense of mission, influential and creative in problem-solving (Hersey 61). ii. Making the right hiring decision: the hiring process involves several candidates and this demands high-level skills in the selection of the best candidate. Choosing the wrong candidate for a job means bringing in more problems to yourself as a manager.

A good manager should be trained in selection interviewing. An assessment should be considered during the selection process and work with a competent recruiter. Be open-minded and listen. Your boss may find your idea a brilliant one. Develop respect and a trust foundation with your boss. This ensures a productive and safe environment in case a disagreement arises. v. Being taken back to learn something new. Learning is a continuous process so as to encourage development though it takes you out of comfort zone and makes you feel incompetent again. As a new manager, challenging assignments and new challenges make you develop. In case you are doing a new role, a developmental plan is important to realize your success. A challenging act can be solved easily through help from people through social networking.
