However, the identification, research and sharing of the findings is just as important albeit not as visible. On a regular basis, paleontologists have to carry out field work and while this is the most visible, the most important work is done in the lab and or museums. Technological advancements have allowed for easier location and excavation of fossil beds but the job is still very tasking and requires careful and arduous work to protect the often delicate findings. At this early stage, some of the subjects that one should be proficient includes; English, biology, chemistry and mathematics. For example, the average salary for a cardiologist is as much as seven times higher than the national median. These scientists study and classify new plant species and how they can be applied to various aspects of human life.
