It’s not good to have a strong legislature or executive as the arms of government in a nation are intended to counter check each other to ensure adherence to constitutional governance and adherence to the principles of democracy. Their democratic responsibilities complement each other as the legislature is responsible for the enacting the laws and policies, it ratifies principle and values that are implemented and administered by the executive arm. Hence, it's not good to have power imbalance between the legislature or executive. What are some of the benefits of each side? Powerful legislature enhances inclusion and representation of the people choices in the law making the process by eliminating one-man rule and replacing it with majority rule with the people desires well represented.

A powerful executive is well positioned to conduct strict oversight roles and better day-to-day implementation of policies and law hence efficient running of the political and social processes in the society. It is imperative to ensure that that the two arms of government do not undermine each other but empower each other to ensure effective governance and put in front the interest of the society instead of selfish interest and needs. How have the transitions in Asia differed from those in Latin America?
