The establishment of Enrolled nurse standards for practice replaced the National competency standards for the enrolled nurse which was developed back in 2002. They communicate with the public on which standards which the enrolled nurses need to offer to them. They should be read concurrently with various important documents which describes the way in which vital terms should be applied in the standards. There exist three domains which include; • Collaborative and health practitioner practice • Offering of care and • Analytical and demonstrative practice These indicators are conveyed through skills, knowledge, and attitudes within the clinical setting which aims in domains.

They have been shown to vary from one clinical setting to another depending with the context of healthcare delivery practice. An example of how the Enrolled Nurse Standards of Practice applies to the role of Enrolled Nurses is that it reflects EN roles in the current environment of health to remain principle-based and broad. Another example is that as the EN proceeds in offering health care services to the patients, there is need of evaluating the services which they use if they provide patient-centered care in order to give space for improvement. The importance of this decision framework is to assist by: • Recognizing those foundations which has been agreed for the decision-making tools and • Exhibiting how principles will be applied and concepts between Nurses and midwifery.

The practices of medical practitioners are usually regulated for the interest of the public, as a result of this regulation; the public is assured of their safety by ensuring that medical practitioners are authorized to make right decisions. Decisions which are made by medical professional needs knowledge, competence, and experience, in application of this framework, it will result to quality and safety care in midwifery and nursing practice in the healthcare system. In addition, the use of the two template tools will ease flexibility in care practice and reflection of how the practice has changed. There are various principles guides are agreed nationally to evaluate and develop decision-making tool in Australia. It is critical and most relevant for practice in clinical setting. The template tools have also been shown to assist in influencing changes in nursing and midwifery environment of practice. This board controls the midwifery and nurses practice in Australia. The core principle of the board is to protect the safety of the public. It accomplishes this by establishing practitioner’s code of conducts, registration standards, standards and guidance’s for nurses and midwifery practice. CPD creates many opportunities where nurses and midwives can discuss and plan with their mentors, supervisors, and mentors as they can also be able to realize those areas which they have limitations. Midwives and nurses need to reflect on CPD continuously because it clearly defines and relates to their practice. Studies have shown that this idea, in turn, will enhance their learning ability. They can also write down the CPD activities summary and how they influence their practice activities and also assess if they are reaching any goal in their practice.
