The company which is known for some the greatest animation characters like Mickey Mouse, goofy, snow white, Lion King and many others. The company has grown from grass to grace and throughout the steps, it has been able to set quite a number of records while taking great risks to develop and improve the entertainment industry as a whole. There are a number of reasons that have valued the immense growth and success that has been witnessed all through. First is the great thirst from improvement and risk, which was brought in by Wall Disney who was the founding father. When he came into the industry was only known for short films that would be aired on television only. Novelty and innovation characterized his leadership tenure and he always sought to take risks to ever improve and develop the company.

The seeking to be first in almost everything was never without any risks for failure, but Walt knew that the gains were quite immense upon success. He opened Disneyland in 1955, which was a first theme park of its kind. The company has expanded into media networks, studio releases, theme parks, resorts and sports parks, consumer products and merchandise, online streaming sites and direct marketing. The media networks that vary from broadcasting television stations like ABC networks and other radio stations and other cable networks that are watched all across the world. These stations are doing well as they remain competitive against the rest of the major players in the sector. The viewership and returns are still quite substantial as the companies remain sustainable and bring in many profits. The company has also been involved in the studio entertainment where it has been involved in theatrical productions, home entertainment, Buena Vista Music Group and other theatrical productions.

A number would argue that Disney ought to withdraw from a number of the sectors it is invested in and wholly concentrate on the most profitable sectors only. However, it has been show clearly that many of the sectors have been able to become sustainable and maintain their position at the helm of their industries. The company ought to even consider expanding into other entertainment areas.
