Apart from scrutinizing the books of account, an accountant is also responsible for helping the organization re-arrange the operations of a business to make them more efficient and effective depending on the goals and objectives of the business or organization. Hence, the roles and responsibilities of an accountant are based on ensuring that the finances of business, individuals, governments, and any other relevant parties are used appropriately which means that accountants will always be in demand as long as money is involved. It is also possible for a person pursuing this career to become a general accountant. A general accountant does almost the same job as a book keeper except for the fact that the general accountant ahs other roles such as the making accruals and the relevant adjustments in the books of account. In most cases, these individuals work in the public sector and they are normally in charge of the accounting department in the organization. Tax evasion or involvement in any tax-related misconduct is a federal crime (Macintosh and Shearer, 613). Hence, a tax accountant has to make sure that the individual or organization complies with the tax regulations and also advises a person or business appropriately in cases where any of the parties wants to venture into business. Hence, the taxation accountants have to ensure that they have knowledge of acceptable economic concepts and trends as well as the other practices that might affect the income and tax compliance regarding their clients.
