Students who have undergone work integrated learning have more practical learning skills as well as higher chances of securing job opportunities compared to students who have not undergone internship programs. The company's excellent net sales performance can also be attributed to its large number of global stores Wal-Mart's remarkable logistic system gives the companies an incomparable competitive advantage (Marcilla, 2014). The company has the capability of shipping their merchandise from all their multiple distribution locations so as to offer the cheapest as well as most efficient route. The company also facilitate online ordering. Weaknesses Wal-Mart's low pricing strategy has captured almost all the customers within the retail industry thereby making it completely difficulty for other small retailers to survive within the retail industry. Ethically, small shoppers particularly those who are concerned about the small retailer's well-being are not satisfied by the company's monopolizing power.

Since most of the small retailers have been forced to exit the retail industry, some shoppers have been declining to shop at Wal-Mart because of its monopoly power. This poor perception of the company's image can significantly lower the company's net sales (Marcilla, 2014). Deflation of prices is a major problem that Wal-Mart faces along with other discount stores experiences in the modern market. Additionally, the company may lack adequate information on specific areas that require improvements within their line of business. External analysis Opportunities As the US largest retailing company, Wal-Mart has an excellent opportunity of becoming the largest global retailer. The company needs to diversify its product selection particularly its musical products. Currently, the company does not have an adequate mixture of its musical products such as instruments that are highly profitable.

Therefore, diversifying this area of selection will increase the company's profitability. Even though in the US, the company has low wages but in the developing countries, the company can set high wages due to cheaper manufacturing costs. Through the provision of job opportunities and increasing wealth in other nations, the company can easily invest and open up multiple stores in such locations thereby, increasing its net sales. Wal-Mart can also diversify its type of stores. The company has shown excellent success in establishing neighborhood markets. Recently, the company tried to establish a mall. The company's periodic customer complains about lengthy checkout lines as well as the inadequate quality of the products is a major threat to the company. Some of the experiences customers gain in the Wal-Mart's services is also a threat to the company's since the customers can easily shift to the company's competitors with better services.

Additionally, the company does not utilize direct sales strategy to increase its global net sales. Other competing companies within this retail industry are specializing more in direct sales, therefore, is a major threat to Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart's strategic plans of expanding into the developing nations may not be adequately attainable. In most cases, careers within the field of management require critical analysis that will result in making critical decisions for the success of the organization (Weible, 2009). Most of the decisions made within this field have an impact on the overall performance as well as the success of the organization. As per my personal understanding, I believe I have adequate decision making both from my life experiences as well as from classroom learning.

Wal-Mart also requires students with the aim of pursuing management internship in their organization to have the following skills; respect, time conscious, flexible, excellent interpersonal skills, creativity, teamwork and IT skills. These skills provide effective, responsive, independence and transparent services at Wal-Mart.
