The teacher should do what the students like as part of helping the children to be engaged. The engagement is obtained through use of pleasurable events such as games which makes the pre-school child be creative and have a physical strength. The child will eventually develop academically with healthy emotions and behavior. Push for academic success by parents is also another problem that causes a rise in mental health problems in Hong Kong among the pre-school children. It diverts the child's attention and once the child acquires early childhood education, the child becomes bored and depressed because the child likes video gaming. The mental health is appropriate for the development of the child in terms of behavior and emotions. Urie Bronfenbrenner, a Russian American psychologist, developed the Ecological Systems Theory in 1979. He works as the ecological framework for human development (Bronfenbrenner, 1992). The theory has influenced psychologists in the way of categorizing an individual as well as the impact of the surrounding environment to the individual. The theory was constructed to describe how the inbuilt features of a child and the surrounding environment interact to bring a change to the growth and development of a child. Bronfenbrenner suggested that the environmental systems make people behave differently.

The microsystem is the most immediate environment that surrounds the process of development in a child. From the term "micro" we get an indication that it is small; this environmental system is small. It is small in a way that it is the immediate environment that the child interacts with. It includes the immediate family. It mainly comprises the population which the child is more close to. The interaction between the microsystems can create or destroy the development of a child. Microsystem that consists of parents who attend school and interact with another microsystem containing teachers and mutually encourage the child to improve on academics and also cheer the child in games is a mesosystem that helps in a good development of a child.

The environment favors the development of the child because the environment is healthy and conducive to the child. Furthermore, another instance involves a child who is nurtured between two families because the parents divorced. The child is attached to the mother-step dad and dad-step mother relationship. For example, in places where people do not value educating girls, the girl child in the place will fail to acquire education and it will hinder the child's cognitive development. Furthermore, an environment with political stability helps in child development that in an area with political instability. The larger environment is also a factor that should be considered to promote child's development. The Chronosystem refers to an environment that a child is affected by the changes that occurring life.

The changes include the death of parents or divorce by parents. Apply the Ecological System Theory Ecological system theory helps in the establishing the effect of an interaction by an individual to a particular environment (Bronfenbrenner, 1992). The children mental health issue in early childhood education is an issue that can be caused by the type of environment a child interacts with. The levels of the ecological system are the root cause for a change in the behavior of the child. Mental health is important to a child because it influences thinking, reaction or behavior of a child. Mental health is directly linked to the environment because a healthy environment improved the development of the child and also an improvement in mental health.

The early childhood education children need to be nurtured in a way that they feel free and loved. When the two microsystems such as parents and teachers participate in helping the child in studies and also fun, the child will grow in a good development while those children that lack the attachment from the mesosystem will develop fear and anxiety leading to mental health issues. The exosystem can also affect the mental health of children. Bronfenbrenner's ecological system theory explains that exosystem affects child development through settings that the child is not in direct contact with. For example, a child will get annoyed because his father has moved away from her because of the shift in the location of the workplace.
