A health care system is an excellent example of the privately funded health care system. There exists a significant difference between the two healthcare systems. In the case of U. K, NHS has been in existence for more than fifty years, and it offers free services to the point of delivery to each citizen (Loveday et al. This service is known to be funded by funds obtained from the taxpayers for the benefit of the same taxpayers. Medical institutions with this including hospitals may come up with localized monopolies since there is no any other alternatives that can offer their services as well as economies of scale incentives the emergency of one large health care center in a given area rather than having a large number of small hospitals.

Despite this, such monopolies create economic inefficiencies through social loss in that a monopoly firm may lead to economic inefficiencies through social loss in a situation where a monopoly firm may retain high profits from their gain. The USA is considered to be one of the developed countries that do not have universal access to healthcare systems. Access to healthcare depends on the ability of the citizens to afford health insurances, and this is considered to be failing American people (Squires & Anderson, 2015). There have been cases of availability of healthcare systems for those citizens who come from different income levels, and the available healthcare system is not of consistent quality. Also, the choice of the specialist to see depends on the type of insurance cover that one has.

Black people and those of ethnic groups also find it hard for them to access quality healthcare since the majority of them are uninsured (Stoddart & Evans, 2017). New immigrants also find it difficult for them to obtain quality healthcare and even to understand the nature of the healthcare systems. With some of the Americans beings homeless, their access to healthcare systems is quite limited. Despite this, USA is one of the developed countries with the most advanced healthcare systems (Stoddart & Evans, 2017). With the entire healthcare system in UK operating around NHS, the government has been able to control all operations that are related to the healthcare, and this has ensured that all charges are minimal if need be. This is different when it comes to the case of USA.

In the US, private insurance companies control healthcare systems (Stoddart & Evans, 2017). The healthcare system in this country is entrepreneurially structured, and USA government has no guarantee of providing healthcare to the members of the public (Stoddart & Evans, 2017). This is to show that in this case, healthcare is of financial strain for the citizens since they have to access it from the private insurance companies. This is the same case with that of NHS of UK. Healthcare insurance beneficiaries pay an average of $321 every month. The annual deduction that goes to healthcare insurance per individual isb$4558 (Stoddart & Evans, 2017). This is too much as compared to the 9% of tax that is paid by UK citizens and which end up covering for healthcare. Also, in US, the poor spend a great percentage of their earning on medical bills as compared to the rich who spend proportionally less.

According to report that was given by CNBC, more than two million people were adversely affected financially by medical bills. Approximately more than 600000 people go bankrupt every year in US due to medical bills (Loveday et al. In terms of percentage, 62% of bankruptcy in US was caused due to medical bills. It is clear that there is much difference between healthcare system in the UK and that of US. One of significant similarity between the two states is that healthcare systems are highly advanced in both of the two nations. J. , Golsorkhi, M. , Tingle, A. , Bak, A. & Wilcox, M.
